WHAT IS THE ICE CREAM CHASE 5K?
The Ice Cream Chase 5k (ICC5k) is a memorial event that celebrates Brian McManus’ love for ice cream and running. All proceeds benefit the Brian McManus Scholarship. More information on the scholarship can be found on our About page.

Registration

WHEN SHOULD I REGISTER?

Registration is open now through June 11th. To guarantee an event shirt, register by May 15th.

Should I sign up for the in-person or virtual race?

Everyone is welcome to register for the in-person 5k — located at Bunker Hill in Chicago. If you are unable to attend in-person and still want to support the event, you can register for the virtual 5k option.

cAN i STILL REGISTER WHEN THERE ARE NO SHIRTS LEFT?

Yes! We are out of event shirts for the year due to continued registrations and our need to pre-order!  The shirt fees of new registrations will become a full donation towards the Brian McManus Scholarship. Registrants will still pick up a race bib and can enjoy ice cream and post-race festivities! Register by May 15th next year to guarantee your shirt!

Race Packet

How do I get my race packet?

In-person participants pick up their race packets on June 11th from 7:00am to 7:50am at the event site. Virtual participants will receive their race packets in the mail.

WHere do you ship?

We will ship race packets to virtual participants in any U.S. state including Alaska and Hawaii. Internationally, we will ship to Canada. If you live outside of the U.S. and Canada, contact us at icecreamchase5k@gmail.com to discuss shipping options.

When will my race packet ship?

​Race packets for virtual participants will begin shipping week of 6/6/2022.

What do i do if my shirt doesn't fit? Can I swap it?

Size exchanges are not offered for in-person or virtual participants.

In-Person Option

What time does the race start?

Running participants will start at 8:00am and walking participants will start at 8:05am. 

What time is the awards ceremony?

The awards ceremony will take place at 9:30am. Awards will be given to the top runners in each age group. 

Where is the event site?

The Ice Cream Chase 5k is located at ​Bunker Hill Forest Preserve, Grove 4 (entrance on Caldwell Ave and Harts Rd). 

Virtual 5k Option

WHERE CAN I RUN/WALK?

Virtual participants can complete the 5k anywhere — on a treadmill, on a trail, or on a sidewalk.

WHEN DO I NEED TO COMPLETE MY RUN?

We encourage virtual participants to complete the 5k on the original race date of 6/11/2022. But if that doesn’t work for you, that’s okay! Do the 5k whenever it works best for you!

WILL THERE BE PRIZES FOR THE FASTEST virtual ParticipantS?

Virtual participants are not eligible to win prizes.
